About the artist
I am an artist based in Canberra. I began painting in 2019 during lockdown, initially to brighten the walls of my small apartment.
What started as a casual pursuit quickly grew into a powerful creative outlet, balancing my analytical career in government.
Drawing on my deep love for nature, years of photographic experience, and the vibrant energy of dance music, my work is characterized by bold colors and composed or invented compositions. I primarily paint in acrylics, drawn to their fast-drying nature and the ease and safety to use at home.
To me, a painting is not finished until it is on a wall
at home.
Creativity
I have always felt the need to create. Over the years this has taken various forms from woodwork to photography, watercolour illustrations, gardening and even a stint learning surface pattern design.
Part of this is the challenge to learn a new skill, but over time I have come to see patterns. A big change like a new job might slow down my creativity, but as soon as I have the mental space I find myself buzzing with new ideas and a strong need to create.
Acrylic paint feels like the first medium that I can really dive into and explore endless possibilities.
