About the artist

I began painting in 2019 during lockdown, initially to brighten the walls of my small apartment.

What started as a casual hobby grew into a powerful creative outlet, balancing my analytical career in government. Painting is a place to explore imperfection.

Drawing on my deep love for nature, years of photographic experience, and the vibrant energy of dance music, my work is characterized by bold colors and composed or invented compositions. I primarily paint in acrylics, drawn to their fast-drying nature and the ease and safety to use at home.

A painting is not finished until it is hung on a wall at home.

The way it glows when the sun hits it, the change in mood as the day shifts… That is when a painting feels complete.

Creativity

I have always felt the need to create. Over the years this has taken various forms from woodwork to photography, watercolour illustrations, gardening and even a stint learning surface pattern design.

There is obviously joy in the challenge to learn a new skill, but over time I have come to see a bigger pattern. A big change like a new job might slow down my creativity, but as soon as I have the mental space I find myself buzzing with new ideas and a strong desire to create.

Across all mediums, I have always returned to rich, bold colours, leading lines, and capturing the wonder of nature.

Acrylic paint feels like the first medium that I can really dive into and explore endless possibilities.
